Manny Machado (born July 6, 1992) is a third baseman and shortstop for the San Diego Padres in Major League Baseball. Drafted third overall by the Baltimore Orioles in 2010 out of high school, he made his MLB debut in 2012 and quickly emerged as one of the sport’s premier young talents. Known for his combination of power, defensive excellence, and baseball instincts, Machado has been named an MLB All-Star multiple times and is widely regarded as one of the best all-around players of his generation.
